MUSICIANS RAISE MONEY FOR CANCER RESEARCH

November 24, 2003 (Columbus, OH) -- A group of musicians - A Christmas To Cure Cancer, Inc. - releases a charity Christmas CD of the same name to raise money for cancer research on November 30. They donate the net proceeds to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus, OH.

A Christmas To Cure Cancer, Inc. is registered with the IRS as a

501c(3) non-profit organization. The organization’s mission is to raise money for cancer research. Consisting of musicians with diverse musical backgrounds, the group was inspired to start their fundraising efforts by their dear friend and fellow musician, Lorne VanFossen, a cancer survivor who is currently cancer free and featured playing guitar on the "A Christmas To Cure Cancer" CD and during their live benefit performances.

The group is primarily made up of a band of former high school aged musicians called Aereon that played together from 1978 to 1982 in Eastern Ohio.  The foursome consists of  Mark Puskarich, Cody Romshak, Lorne VanFossen and Dave Clo.  Dave Clo, now residing in Nashville, records and performs for Christian artists such as Chris Rice,  SuperChick, and Toby Mac of DC Talk.  With the addition of 3 women, Corrina VanFossen, Julie Lucas & Michele Clay, and a few special guests, they all contributed to the making of the CD and performing at the live benefit events.

"A Christmas To Cure Cancer" CD contains a wide variety of musical styles - blues, country, rock, heavy metal, folk, even polka. "About four year ago, I proposed the idea of recording a Christmas album just for the fun of it," says Mark Puskarich, the producer and organizer behind the musical fundraiser. Once a fun project to share with friends and family, "A Christmas To Cure Cancer" is becoming an annual and fast growing musical charity event in the region. It raised and donated over $35,000 to cancer research last year through CD sales and a benefit concert.

The new CD is available through AChristmasToCureCancer.com - a web site specially designed for the project - from November 30.

dB's REUNION IN RALEIGH, NC INCLUDES Tangerine Trousers' Mark Iannace

Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple, legendary co-founders of the North Carolina power-pop group the dB's, played together for the first time since the mid-1990s at a benefit concert for Alejandro Escovedo at Retail Bar in downtown Raleigh on Sunday evening.

The short-but-sweet 25 minute set featured songs from their 1991 reunion album "Mavericks," as well as older dB's chestnuts like "From a Window."
Tangerine Trousers performed a set at the benefit in the afternoon, and Stamey invited Mark Iannace to join him and Holsapple onstage later in the evening for two songs, playing accordion on "Angels" and a Byrds cover, "Here Without You," in front of a packed house. The benefit raised $13,000 for Alejandro Escovedo's medical fund.

Chris Stamey recorded, mixed, and provided additional production on the latest
Tangerine Trousers release, "Dressed for Success."

Tangerine Trousers will be headlining at the 2004 Ann Arbor Folk Festival (Michigan) on January 30 (with Ani DiFranco); upcoming performances include Memphis Smoke (Royal Oak, MI) on December 28, December 31 at First Night Columbus in Columbus, OH, February 21 in Batesville, IN, April 3 in Stevens Point, WI, and a central US tour in late February.
